This policy describes what happens when you use BeautifyText. It is written to be read rather than skimmed past, and it describes what the code actually does.
Text you enter stays on your device
Every tool on this site — the text formatter, case converter, duplicate line remover and word counter — is implemented in JavaScript that runs inside your browser. When you paste or type text, that text is held in the page in front of you and nowhere else. It is not uploaded to our server, not sent to any third party, not written to a log file and not stored in a database.
You can verify this. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab and use any tool: you will not see a request carrying your text. The site also sends a Content-Security-Policy that forbids the browser from making outbound connections from the page at all, so even a future mistake in the JavaScript could not quietly transmit what you paste.
What is not collected
- No text you enter. It never leaves your browser.
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, login or user profile.
- No cookies. The site sets none, which is why you never see a cookie banner here.
- No browser storage. The tools do not use
localStorage, sessionStorage, IndexedDB or caches to keep your text. Closing the tab discards it. - No analytics or advertising. There is no Google Analytics, no tag manager, no advertising network, no social plug-in and no session recorder.
- No fingerprinting. No canvas, WebGL or device fingerprinting code runs on this site.
- No third-party requests. Fonts, icons, stylesheets and scripts are all served from this domain. Nothing loads from a CDN.
Server logs
Like nearly every website, the server that hosts this site may record standard request information in an access log: the IP address making the request, the date and time, the URL requested, the browser's user-agent string and the referring page. This is generated by the web server itself, and it is used only to keep the site running and to diagnose abuse or outages. It never contains the text you paste, because that text is never submitted.
The exact retention period depends on the hosting provider; a typical shared host keeps access logs for a few days to a few weeks and then rotates them away. If you operate this site on your own server, you control that retention period and can shorten it.
Your rights and choices
Because the site does not collect personal data through its tools, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete. If you have emailed us, we hold that email and our reply for as long as it takes to deal with the matter, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by writing to [email protected].
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or a jurisdiction with similar law, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability over personal data relating to you. Since the tools process no personal data on our side, those rights in practice apply only to correspondence you send us.
Children
The site is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Downloads
The word counter can save your text as a .txt file. That file is assembled in
your browser and saved directly to your own device. It is not uploaded, and we never see it.

Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revision date below will change with it. Because the site collects no contact details, there is no mailing list to notify; the current text on this page is always the authoritative version.
